The NOSop3 LAB (Dutch Public Broadcaster) receives continuous video feeds to international press agencies. These video feeds contain the latest news and very rich tagged with metadata. As part of this project, Reuters and all European news agencies have given approval of live news feeds as part of an art project in public space during the months of November and December 2011.
The goal is to exhibit images artistically at DROPSTUFF.nl 'urban screen networking " with LED displays in public space. For this we ask designers, programmers and students to develop a number of formats in which changing the video feeds is done automatically so that different perspectives and contexts arise. Both new images and the metadata may be "translated" by the application to be developed so things are turned inside out, turned around and / or placed in other contexts. Imagine (public) influence by a smartphone application to provide input into this new form of interactive art and news.

The project is a part of the Culture Vortex project and has a focus on creating audience participation with digital collections.

The creative quest is: create interactive applications, the NEWS FEEDS as input, the network & screen DROPSTUFF.nl, manipulated via smartphones (osc, web).
